Next Steps After Submitting a Supplemental Funding Request

How to request funding from SABAC: Funding Flow Chart

After submitting to SABAC, there is a review and approval process that involves both SABAC and final approval by the Vice President for Student Affairs.  After final approval is received, SABAC will notify the RSO of the outcome and any specific details that might apply to that request.

Once you've received approval notice that student activity fees have been allocated to your RSO, here are the details you need to know to access those funds. Before any money can be spent, the RSO needs to make sure all the proper forms and processes are completed.  When contracts are involved, there is a required university process to receive approval that must be completed before any activity can be finalized and funded.  Likewise space reservations need to be confirmed, and prior approvals may be required for certain types of expenditures.

While there may be circumstances in which reimbursements for already approved SABAC funding may be feasible, do not spend any money expecting to be reimbursed until you have confirmed the details and received confirmation that the expense is eligible for reimbursement.  To ensure the most successful outcomes, it is highly recommended that you contact Student Activities, at immediately after receiving approval notice from SABAC and at least two weeks prior to your scheduled event or travel.  The sooner the better, and it can even be helpful to meet with a staff member in the Department of Student Activities before even submitting a SABAC request to plan out exactly what you need and the lead time that might be needed.

For hosted activities and events receiving financial support from SABAC, remember that you must use OwlLife to capture all the students who attend. Likewise, when returning from travel using any SABAC funds, you must complete the following form.
